Our Class List

  • Autism Program "Starlight Players" for Pre-Teens

We offer classes to children and teens on the autism spectrum who have a love for theatre. The primary goals are the same as our regular program. We want to create a safe place for these students to express themselves, experiment with characters and emotions and work as a team to create a work of art. Drama is a wonderful vehicle for  teaching social and life skills in a natural setting. We have left the age range quite wide, this will narrow as we get our final registrations and complete interviews. The goal is to come up with a class where the kids feels comfortable and safe, rather than based on age alone.

  • Performance Program (Saturdays)

This is a specialized program. It is the only class at our school where an audition is required. This takes place in September. Students who are interested will be asked to come up with a small piece of their own, receive direction from a teacher, and participate in group work before being selected. This program begins for students around 9 years old and goes to 17 years old. This advanced program is designed for those students who have more experience with theatre and have a higher level of dedication to acting. The performance class performs in the community at the end of the school year, as well as at the school.

The focus is slightly different from our other classes as the emphasis falls more on the play and rehearsal process, while team work and learning the building blocks of acting are done at a much more advanced level.
